Pot Amount

The pot amount refers to the total sum of money that players wager a poker game in a single hand or game.

Betting & Action

This is an important part of poker. Poker games typically have betting in the form of Big Blind and Small Blind in Omaha and Hold’em.

The blinds are forced bets posted left of the dealer button in poker games. The player immediate to the left of the dealer pays the small blind amount and the player to his immediate left pays the big blind amount. Khelo365 has a wide variety of games with different blind amounts.

Bet refers to the amount a player wager in a game. Once a player places a bet, other players must ‘call’ by matching the bet amount to remain in the game.

Call refers to accepting the bet amount and agreeing to pay the same. Players must call the wagered amount if they want to proceed with the round. Once you call, you are accepting the highest amount wagered in that round and that amount will be deducted from your amount and will constitute the pot amount.

Players can refuse to accept the bet when they have no chance of a good hand and can fold and forfeit the game. Folding, is incredibly strategic and can make or break your game.

Players have an option to raise if other players’ bet an amount in a round. If a player other wants to raise the bet amount and he is free to do so. The other players have an option to call or re-raise the amount made as a bet to stay in the game. Otherwise, they can fold and walk out of the game.

It can be thought of as the alternate term for “pass” in poker. You have an opportunity to decline to open the betting. Another player given the task of betting in which case you may fold, call the bet or raise

As the name suggests, re-raise is to raise after another player has raised the betting amount. This is a very common ploy to force players to fold their hands.

After the hole cards have been dealt and bets have been placed, three community cards are made available to the players. This is called the Flop.

After betting and wagering using the Flop, another card is made available for the players called as the Turn. All the players have two hole cards and four community cards to use. These six cards can be used to make the best five card combination.

After the Turn, a final card called River is made available to the players. A final round of betting follows and the players can make the best possible hand.

Showdown is a situation when, if more than one player remains after the River round, the remaining players show or ‘declare’ their hands, the player with the best hand is declared a winner and wins the pot amount.
