So you’ve read part 1 of our guide to poker success by taking care of non-poker aspects of your life, and you’re back for more. Well, we shall not keep you waiting! Let’s dive right in with an oldie (but a goodie):
We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again – tired online poker players find it harder to win. This is particularly important because many poker tournaments cash games tend to go on late into the night, and so you need to make sure you’re well-rested.
The secret to maintaining that hunger to do better lies in treating every game you’re in as if it’s a WSOP final table – and the best way to start is to ensure that you’ve slept well and are raring to go right until the very end.
Poker is a sedentary game – it requires almost no physical movements. Despite that, however, it’s important to make sure that your body is as fit as it can be. Why? Because when your physical condition is good, that allows your mental condition the space to improve as well. So if you work out, try to ensure that you’ve worked out consistently before a big tournament. If you don’t, try to take a break and head out for a walk to get some fresh air at some point.
If you can, try some techniques that can help you relax and maintain your equilibrium. The most common methods suggested are yoga and meditation; and the latter, in particular, can help you stay in the zone throughout a multi-hour session of poker.
Although most of your ways to improve your play will be through strategies and tips, we hope that we’ve convinced you that there’s a lot you can do through non-poker-related methods as well. Good luck, and have fun playing poker at Khelo365!
